Welcome to the first Monthly Update for MarketSquare. As MarketSquare continues to evolve and expand to a wider audience, we hope to provide you with these updates so you can follow all the major changes, new features, and improvements coming your way. Our team is passionate about enhancing your experience on MarketSquare in every possible way, so here is a look at what we’ve been working on since releasing the closed beta version of MarketSquare.

Partners and Projects

One of the major changes we have done to the backend of the platform allows us to onboard partners in a more streamlined way. Users on our backend can now be flagged as “Partners” which give them access to the “Add Project” button on the homepage where they can quickly and easily setup their project’s page.

We also added a submission form for our future partners that wish to list their project, game, or service on our platform. One of our goals at MarketSquare is to provide our community with reliable infomration and legitimate projects. By setting up a submission form for projects we also can work closely with our future partners on their future pages, content, and potential new areas for collaboration.

Monthly Spotlight

When we started MarketSquare we originally had only one Project of the Month. This was a way for us to showcase a project and bring more attention to teams that are working hard within our industry. However, we felt like we could do more. Blockchain covers an extensive range of products, businesses, and services. Therefore we tweaked our homepage to include not only a Project of the Month, but a Collectible of the Month, and a Game of the Month as well.

The amount of new games and collectible NFT projects introduced on a daily basis can be incredibly daunting. We wanted to make sure we were doing our part to highlight some of the major innovative ones within our space. This not only gives us more chances to highlight great projects, but it allows us to work with more people, create interesting content, and grow our community.

Project Curation and Claiming

For MarketSquare to succeed, we need to highlight all projects, even the ones we haven’t partnered with or collaborated with as of yet. This is why our team has been hard at work on our Project Curation update. This update allows for us to create pages for reputable projects. Once a page is created by the MarketSquare team, you will see that the page’s Team Member section will have a “Claim” option.

This option will allow for the verified team behind a project to submit a claim request and have access to their MarketSquare page. This feature has been tested extensively and is already being used throughout the platform. You’ll be happy to learn that this process worked flawlessly and the owner of the project Dead Freaks was able to easily claim his project on MarketSquare.

Improvements and Fixes

Aside from the larger features being implemented on MarketSquare, the team has been hard at work adding quality of life improvements that make the platform easier to use. We’ve been taking in user feedback both from our partners and beta users that have been actively using the platform.

Some of the most notable changes include:

  • Adding a submission page so future partners of MarketSquare can request to add their project to the platform.
  • Image cropping was added for project logos and user profile avatars.
  • Media such as screenshots and images added to project pages are now compressed before being stored.
  • Polygon and Solana were added as Platform options for Project registration.
  • When signing up, the registration form now has real-time validation for usernames.
  • Review avatars and project logos are now clickable and redirect to the user/project pages
  • A user’s own review is now shown at the top of the first page, that way you can always find your reviews first when visiting projects that you have reviewed.
  • Disabling 2FA on your account now requires a password confirmation.

Besides the above, there have been various smaller fixes that have improved performance and ease-of-use across the platform.

Looking Ahead

These updates only scratch the surface of what our team has been working on but they are a crucial part of our platform. As previously announced, we have a whole slate of updates coming soon that focus on adding new hubs, a learning center, and Squares focusing on DeFi, Gaming, & NFTs!

We would like to give a huge thanks to all of our partners and users that provided feedback during the closed beta. Your feedback has helped us create a better experience and we cannot wait to show you what we have in store. Currently, our team is working on final fixes that will allow us to transition into our Open Beta! We will keep you posted and thank you for being a part of our growing community on MarketSquare.

We hope to share more with you about all the updates we have coming to MarketSquare soon. For now, feel free to join the conversation on our Discord and follow us on Twitter .
