Can't Afford to Grab a Ghxsts? Try These Collections Instead! Banner

The NFT market continues to boom. With generative projects like CryptoPunks and Bored Apes leading the way, many collectors forget that the hand-drawn NFT art scene is very much alive and well and when it comes to NFT art, nothing has been quite as prolific as Ghxsts .

This hand-drawn collection of Ghxsts, Immxrtals, and Demxns has become one of the most sought after NFT art collections in the entire nftyverse. Unfortunately for us, along with that fame comes skyrocketing prices.

The Ghxsts collection has sold over 2100 ETH in volume in just a few short months and shows no signs of slowing down. For the average collector, Ghxsts have simply become too expensive at this point and out of reach. But don’t fret! We have scoured the market and found some amazing and more affordable alternatives.

For those of you looking to enter the darker, more mysterious corner of NFT art, enter at your own risk…

S.H.A.C.K.E.R.S.

S.H.A.C.K.E.R.S (Safe House of Alien Culture & Knowledge Eternal Residents) is a series of weird and wacky convicts that have been locked up in an underground jail in the Metaverse called The S.H.A.C.K.

These highly stylized and wildly colorful demons and misfits stray a bit from the more minimal and pallid taste of Ghxsts, but have found a very strong aesthetic all their own. Their unique blend of vibrant colors with demonic imagery has attracted a lot of interest as of late.

With 80 items in the collection, a floor of 1.3 ETH, and 18.4 ETH in volume, there is still a lot of room for growth before they even come close to the level of success of Ghxsts.

We think this is definitely one to watch!

Dead Freaks

Disclaimer: I love the Freaks. This is one of my personal favorites and I own more than a few from their collection.

Dead Freaks are a collection of hand-drawn and lightly animated creatures straight out of your worst nightmares. Featuring Dead Freaks (vampires), Lycans, and soon a brand new series of Witches called Coven, this collection has a lot to offer those who love a bit of horror in their art.

Dead Freaks feature a vibrant and almost neon aesthetic with a very unique light animation touch to their art that sets them apart from the rest of the market. Let’s be clear, these are not your everyday twilight inspired romantic vampires. Dead Freaks are visceral and twisted while being absolutely stunning piecse of art.

The initial series featured 100 Dead Freaks and 40 Lycans but the team behind Dead Freaks has both the Coven series and Gen 2 Freaks on the way which brings an opportunity to get in on the ground floor in these new collections. With a volume traded of 51 ETH but a floor of just 0.28 ETH, Dead Freaks are much more approachable than Ghxsts for those just starting out. They also have an awesome discord community that I frequently hang out in so if you join, don’t hesitate to say hello!

Mindds NFT

This hand-drawn NFT art series by Dario De Siena is really picking up steam. With vibrant colors and a punk inspired aesthetic, these pieces can really stand out in any collection.

With a floor price of 2.9 ETH and a volume of 59.1 ETH, they aren’t the cheapest option, but I believe they are a long term hold that is well worth adding to your gallery.

Only 41 items out of a max of 999 have been minted leaving a lot of opportunity to mint new items in the collection. You’ll have to be fast though, the collection is sold out and has a LOT of interest.

TheUndead

TheUndead are a hand-drawn collection of 199 “Creatures from the galaxy of ZocroVoid”. While I have no idea what that means, I can dig it. The NFT art here is very unique and has an aesthetic all it’s own.

One of the more interesting aspects of this collection is just how different every “creature” design is. With each being a colorful combination of geometric shapes and sizes there is a lot of variety and this approach really makes each piece stand out and feel unique. Being hand-drawn, there is no underlying cookie cutter wireframe here, these are all truly original creations.

With only 88 of the 199 pieces released, a floor price of 1.9 ETH and a volume of 11.6 ETH, TheUndead collection is still approachable for anyone just starting out and looking for a showpiece to add to their gallery.

The Sick Sinners

This collection of vibrant and kinetically animated skulls is considered an under the radar gem among many NFT art collectors. With intense visuals and uniquely hand-drawn designs, this collection definitely makes a statement. These deathly delights are some of the most chaotically animated designs I have seen but in a good way. The sheer madness of it makes you feel like they are tormented souls and I really dig the aesthetics of it all.

The collection launched on June 15th, 2021 and has only released about 50% of the expected designs. With a floor price of 0.12 ETH and a volume traded of just 4.7 ETH, this collection is a steal and a great entry point for those looking for something unique for their gallery.

Whatever your style, these are some really inspiring NFT art collections to help get your gallery poppin. If you can’t afford the Ghxsts (and let’s be honest, who can?), then give these a look and maybe, just maybe, one of them will speak to you. Just don’t speak back, they say never to start a conversation with a demxn.
